Llançà approves a regulation to ensure that homes that have been empty for years can be rented out

Llançà Town Council has initially approved a regulation on empty homes to put into a rental pool those homes unused for years, with the aim of facilitating rental options for the younger generation and other people with difficulties in accessing affordable housing in the tourist area. The regulation excludes small owners and second homes, and it is stressed that not all empty homes will be included, considering various situations. Final approval is pending, and work will be done on the basis for renting and selection of tenants once the number of dwellings affected has been determined. The initiative is considered an embryonic project with the aim of solving the problem of affordable housing in Llançà.
