Recent data published by the Registradoras de España portal for the third quarter of 2023 offer an interesting insight into real estate activity in the province of Girona.
Firstly, Girona stands out on the national scene as one of the five provinces with the highest share of home purchases by foreigners during this quarter, with a significant 30.85%. This figure places Girona in a relevant position, surpassed only by other popular destinations among foreign buyers such as Alicante (43.76%), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (36.58%), Malaga (35.33%) and the Balearic Islands (31.69%).
Furthermore, in the analysis of the provincial capitals with the lowest weight of property sales in relation to the total for the province, Girona is consolidated as one of the three capitals with the lowest representation, with 8.35%. This situation places it alongside Toledo (7.21%) and Cadiz (7.54%) in this respect, indicating a particular dynamic of the property market in Girona.
On the other hand, the provincial capitals with the highest weight of property sales in relation to their province over the last year include Vitoria-Gasteiz (78.41%), Zaragoza (69.15%), Valladolid (65.25%), Cordoba (56.04%) and Madrid (51.64%). In contrast, Girona (7.78%) once again stands out for having one of the lowest weights in this category, showing a peculiar dynamic in relation to the national property market.
