Girona City Council has approved an agreement with the Salas por la Accesibilidad Private Foundation and the Nuevo Lugar Vivienda Social Private Foundation to build 56 social housing units below Domeny. The agreement includes a protocol of collaboration intentions to establish the conditions for the constitution of a surface right on two plots of land in the Plan de Baix Domeny.
On each of the two plots, 28 dwellings are planned to be built, while a third plot is left out of the agreement due to the presence of archaeological remains. The exact nature of these remains will be determined at a later date, and decisions will be made on how to proceed in this area.
Fundación Privada Salas por la Accesibilidad will be responsible for the development of the two plots, while the day-to-day management will fall to Fundación Privada Nuevo Lugar Vivienda Social. The approval of the agreement has had the backing of all the members of the full City Council, as it has been approved unanimously. This initiative aims to provide social housing to address the needs of the community.
