The councillor of Territory, Ester Capella, has presented the Decree of urgent measures on the urbanistic regime of the habitats for tourist use, which aims to regulate these habitats in 262 municipalities, including the four provincial capitals, by means of obtaining a prior urbanistic licence and a tourist authorisation. These are municipalities, listed at the end of the decree, which are considered to be stressed housing areas, where the rate of housing for tourist use is more than five per hundred inhabitants.
The decree, which will now begin to be processed in committee and by the rapporteurs, establishes that the new licences will last for five years, extendable as long as urban planning permits, and establishes a transitional period of five years for the owners of existing tourist accommodation to apply for them.
